Preparations

Preparations are in full swing here at the cottage!
Jen will be leaving for Virginia in a few short weeks
and this momma is so excited for her!
There has been much shopping going on
as well as a few lunches for strategic planning purposes only of course!
The list is growing small and time is passing all to quickly but
I have to tell you we have been having the time of our lives!

A while back Jen and I went shopping for fabric
and guess what I made for my girl?
Yep, a quilt!

(sorry the picture is blurry)

I love the fabric Jen chose!
It fits her personality to a tee.
What a privilege it was to make this quilt for my sweet girl.

Now

I am off to have some ice cream :)

Care to join me?

~Nancy~

  1. I can remember when Maria went to college. Her little Oldsmobile was stuffed full. How exciting and heartwrenching to send a daughter to college.
We will send Jonny to camp where Maria works for the first time next Mon. - Thurs. Actually we are getting together on Saturday in Fairfield for a parade, picnic, etc. and he will go home with her then. He'll do fine. She's like a second mom to him. She's excited to have him a couple of extra days. I'm going to have to do some thinking when I pack for him to be sure he has enough of everything.
The quilt you made for Jen is exquisite!

  3. Hi Nancy, Happy Thursday to you. I knew the first time I saw your blog that we'd be friends-after seeing your quilt I have to tell you that I love it. I love the colors and the pattern-don't know what pattern it is but it is beautiful and such a keepsake for your girl.
It's been in the high 90's here(it was cold at night in the mountains)so ice cream sounds good-but like Becky I can't have any either.
    Hugs and blessings, Noreen

  4. Thanks Nancy. I will put the "little white house scene" in the mail after it dries. I really like that little house too. If you ever take barn, outhouse or old house photos in your state I'd love to see them (and paint them)!
I'm going to spend some time sewing this afternoon. I'm working on two pairs of flannel boxers for Jonny to take to camp for jammies.
