Then and Now

Some of you
have been asking to see pictures
of our country cottage

You may be sorry you asked!

lots of pics and empty spaces ahead

While we are living in the country cottage
( I like to call it glorified camping)
our furniture is living in the other cottage.
We raided the basement for
those cast off pieces, borrowed a few things
and moved the essentials.

for your viewing pleasure
(The then pictures are
from the previous owners)

The Living Room

Dining Room

(our borrowed dinning table and chairs)

Master Bedroom

(I know you all are a little jealous of my fancy schmancy nightstand)

The Cute Engineers Office

Soon to be Sewing Room

Soon to be guest room/Kate's room

Jen's room

Weren't those kids rooms ADORABLE?

I almost hate to change them
 change in the air!!!

I will certainly keep you updated
but, be forewarned

Take care
and thanks for stopping by!

OOOPS..... I forgot the family room

Just Start With Today

I certainly didn't mean to be away
for such a

It's been so long that...
I don't even know where to start.

I will just start with today...

Here at our little country cottage...
It is a

Now that hunting season is over
It's safe to head back outside.
Libby(my little gardening buddy and constant companion) and I decided
we needed to go for a walk
through our woods.

She had to stop and sniff

I do mean

We had such a lovely walk!
Don't let that sunshine
fool you into thinking it's warm.
Not a chance!
My fingures are chilled to the bone
(My grandma use to say that)
 It's time for a cuppa!

Enjoy your day!

How many of you like to shop?

Maybe this will come as
a shock to some of you

Drives my girls nuts
and I probably miss out on
some really sweet
mother/daughter time.
Not sure why that is
but I just don't like to shop.
I would rather go
to the dr. for one of those female
checkups (which I'm not fond of either)
than go shopping.

The other day the cute engineer and I
hopped in the car and did a little shopping.

This is what we bought.....

about our new cottage in the woods.

Now, would any of you like to
come help us pack?

"Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain."
Psalm 127:1

It's What's For Dinner

It's what's for dinner!
If you have never had one of these
juicy, greasy burgers
I recommend you RUN
not walk
but RUN
to a local Smashburger
They are sooooo not good for you
(if you know what I mean)
sooooo YUMMY!!!

Enjoy your evening

The Plan

A few months back
my very talented SIL
who blogs here
sewed up the CUTEST owl pillows!
When Jen saw those cuties
her mind went into overdrive
and a plan was hatched.

The Plan

Jen: Mommy (that's what she calls me when she wants something)
would you make an owl pillow for me?
Mom (me): I would love to!

A few hours later.....

Jen: Mommy, (insert sweet smile and many compliments)
Would you make some for my friends as well?
Mom (me): ARE YOU KIDDING ME....

Jen and I sat down and got BUSY

Are they not the cutest little owls!!!!!
Each one has found its new home
and I have been told they are quite happy.

Enjoy your week end!

Early Summer Sewing

Early this summer
The rhythm of my sewing machine
was often heard into the wee hours of the morning.
I managed to finish three quilt tops
and start two more.
One of the tops is still at the quilter
but I wanted to share
the other two with you!

This one was made for my
very sweet and wonderful

That's her behind the quilt, Ha!.
She LOVES blues and purples
and put this in her bedroom
where it really popped next to
her blue painted wall.

The next quilt is so very special to me.
Last may my BFF, Julie
came for a visit
visit we did!!!

We had so much fun.

After she left I found
a brown paper bag from
our local quilt store
filled to the brim with fabric picked out to make this...

It's pink and girly!
and every time I see it
I am reminded of our very sweet visit.

Thanks Julie!

The last top I made is for
the cute engineer
So, when that gets back
I'll show y'all a pic

did you hear that?

Mrs. B (my sewing machine) is
calling my name.
She is such a sweet little thing!
and loves some quality time!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

The Slow Down Begins

Last night as I climbed in bed
I was overwhelmed with
gratitude for my
busy summer!

It was the summer of constant motion...
the summer of working
the summer of going
the summer of doing
the summer of giving
the summer of investing

And all the while,
the Lord was speaking this into my heart.

Be still and know I am God

I have never in my life been on the go
like I was this summer
and while I was TIRED
my heart knew a peace
that could only come from my Father.

I love that about Him!

Life is now in slow down mode
for which I am thankful.

Katie had many changes this summer
and is now settled in her new town,
with her new roommates.
She is so happy!!!

Jen is also settled back at school
in her new dorm
with a new roommate.
She too is very happy!

The cute engineer and I are
adjusting to the empty nest (again)
and we too are happy!

If your life is in
a state of constant motion
 let your heart be still
and know He is God!

Your journey will be AMAZING!

Have a very lovely day

The last couple of weeks have
been such a blessing!

Our weather has warmed up
and came with
of humidity!
( Icky and Sticky)
I pulled out the
garden gloves, put on a tank top and got busy!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to work out in the garden!!!
It brings such a peace to this weary ole soul.
The Lord and I have such wonderful conversations together.
Such a blessing I tell you, such a blessing.

The roses are really starting to bloom!

When the day gets to warm and the humidity
has frizzed my hair into a hot mess
I head into the basement
also known as my sewing room.....

Here's a little peek at the latest

It's for the cute engineer
Only he doesn't know it yet

I've also been blessed by spending
 some time with Jen.
We're taking a quilting class together
and having sew much fun ;)
She is making the cutest quilt!
I will take some pics when she
starts to piece it together.

Other than that.....
not much else is going on.

How about you?
What's going on with y'all?

Have a sweet and wonderful evening!

Constant Motion

Hellooooooo out there!

It's been a while...

How are things going?

Things here at the cottage
seem to be in motion all the time...
The garden is coming along nicely.
especially the dandelions!
Still, lots of things to plant.
Libby (my gardening buddy) has renewed
her passion for digging up the yard.
I have three different quilts in the works.
The cute engineer and I are enjoying some
very sweet time with our girls.

Today, it's going to be cool and rainy
a perfect day to step away from the
constant motion to enjoy
a cuppa and a good book!

Take care and have lovely day!

Sweet Blessings

Do you ever find yourself
with a heart so full
that it is hard to sort out your feelings?
That's how I am feeling this evening.
I am overwhelmed in a good way
with blessings that have flowed so sweetly my way.

Do you ever feel like you need to post
just for the sake of posting?
That's how I am feeling this evening.
I would love to share with you all the
blessings that have sweetly touched me
but like I said I am a little overwhelmed
in a good way and I can't seem to sort things out.

The cute engineer is roasting coffee
and I think I will sit down with
a cuppa and enjoy the overwhelming
blessings that my Heavenly Father
has sent my way!

Father God,
Thank You for filling my
heart to overflow.
I am forever grateful
for the memories that have been
made this past week.

and just because a post needs a photo.....
While Julie (the very important quest)
was here, we went to Greenfield Village.
Both of us made a little glass flower.
An experience I will never forget.

Like I said.....sweet blessings!

Enjoy your evening!

The Sweet Buzz of Excitement

Oh my goodness!!!!!
I am soooooooo
Today is the day.....
that THE VIG
(very important guest)
arrives at the cottage.
I can hardly contain the excitement!
I could hardly sleep last night!
I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning to come!
Sometimes a squeal just escapes from no where!
12:36 can't get here fast enough!

Julie, (THE VIG) and I have been friends
for over thirty years!
Time has brought us through
the thick and thin of life.
She is one of God's sweetest blessings!
I simply can not wait to.....
make some new memories.

Let the fun begin!!!!!

Lovely Surprises

Yesterday was such a GRAND day!
full of lovely surprises.....
The cute engineer ticked off a few boxes
on the never ending honey do list.
Words can not express just
how giddy that made me!
He's a keeper!!!

My sweet girl....
had to work all week end
(she works the twelve hour night shift)
So, I really wasn't expecting to see her
She showed up with the

and a new rhododendron.

My other sweet girl was not suppose to get
home until today.....
I heard a door open and in
walked that sweet girl
with her beautiful smile
all her stuff

Simply put.....
It was the best mothers day I've ever had!!!!!

I hope all of you had a lovely day

As we celebrated this day
I thought of so many of you!
Mothers day can be a hard day for many.
Each circumstance is different
and I want you to know that I thought
about you all and prayed for you.

Enjoy your day
