Sister Quilts

We're back home now

and life is good!

I meant to show you all these

quilts before we left for VA

but, time got away from me.

Does time ever do that to you?
Thanks so much for the well wishes
and prayers! My back is on the mend
 lots of tests are being done
AND
 I am thankful not to be in so much pain!

Anyway...

Here are two quilts I just finished up.

One is for my sweet Aunt Sara

and the other for my Mom.

Both made out of the same fabric

but because of the technique in cutting

each is somewhat different.

Enjoy Your Day

You know that saying...

I've fallen and I can't get up

Well...

No, I didn't fall but I have hurt my back

and I REALLY can't get up!

The cute engineer took me

to ER the other night

 we spent most of the night there with

lot's and lot's of test

they could not find a specific reason.
Could be kidney stones, could be a pulled muscle
could be a pinched nerve, could be.........

So....with all the meds they have given me

I have seriously slept for the last

two days and night.

I will be back when I can 

sit up for a minute or two

and type some coherent words.

She Says Cushion......I Say Pillow......

When I started this little blog

of mine I had no idea

that so many of you out there

would find it and read what I had to say.
I would just like to say

THANK YOU!!!

A while back I started commenting

on the blog Naturally Carol

Carol is so sweet, kind and very talented!

and is from Queensland Australia

and when the floods hit part of

her country she had such a sweet idea on how to help.

She started making cushions AKA...pillows
 for those who lost so much.

Now, many people have helped her by

 making cushions and sending them to her.

I too, wanted to help

so off to the quilt shop I went

(what a tough job but someone had to do it Ha!)

The girls and I picked a bit of fabric

and sent it on it's way.

She has taken that bit of fabric and

made some of the most adorable cushions!!!

The First Robin



Out my window this

morning was the first robin.

What a sweet blessing that sight was!

To me, it means spring is just around the corner

Sew Fun

Hey all!

Hope you had a great week end.

Mine was sew fun (Ha!)

The room was filled with women

of all ages laughing and talking.

The sound of working sewing machines 

was like a concert...each playing a part.

There were several gals

with featherweight machines

and one gal even had a iron to match...sew cute!

I Heart Wednesday!

Especially today!

On Wednesday I start the day

on the phone with my friend

Mary (she lives in NJ)

We visit for a bit and

then we pray.

Such a sweet time!

and then I get to

end my day with some

of the most wonderful

second graders EVER!

We gather at church and

learn about our Lord.

My group is so diverse

we have some girly girls

some tomboy girls

some wall climbing boys

and some boys with such tender hearts.

What a privilege to be able to spend

some awesome time with these kids.

My cup overfloweth!

Tonight I was gifted with

these two little gems.

Tonight there was the

most incredible sunset

all orange and glowy!

To God be the glory!

My New Project

Here it is

my new project.

Can't wait.

Since I made my first quilt

just over a year ago

I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH

I have been wanting to

learn how to applique

and at long last

I found a class.

It's a whole new world.
