A Cheerful Countenance

Today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
I have been grUmpy!
My friend Carrie from http://farmingonfaith.blogspot.com/ posted this verse on her blog this morning

"a merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance" Proverbs 15:13

To be honest I really didn't want to listen to this sweet little verse.
I wanted to stay right where I was...grUmpy!
I had things to do, you know, those pleasant things like dishes, laundry, bathrooms...
I did finish my chores and had time to do a little hand sewing and finished my sample quilt.

The mail arrived late this afternoon and brought a sweet surprise.

A new magazine!

So tonight I am sitting in a comfy chair with a cup of tea, my new magazine and cheerful countenance!
Have a great evening!

  1. Some days just don't start out cheerfulilly, but I am glad that your day ended that way!

Your quilt is so pretty. Will you start a new one?

Renee and I had a lot of fun last Tuesday, and learned a lot. I am looking forward to tomorrow. New Skills! Gotta love it...

  2. Good morning Nancy...I think EVERY Monday I tend to be like that...so I understand...and Carrie's verse helped me as well. I'm a tea girl too (green tea every morning and iced tea all summer long!)
Your quilt is gorgeous ..the colors are so soft and pretty. I love to sew but it kind of consumes my focus...so I wish I had more time. Summer is MY time to do all those things I love. I also love my magazine..I'm down to one subscription (Better Homes and Garden) I was so disappointed when Country Home quit. So tell me all about Midwest Living? I'm not familiar!! I got my BHG yesterday and haven't curled up with it yet.

Some Monday's are like that for me too. But I always feel better when I can get some sewing in. Love your quilt. I love hand quilting. It has always been the best therapy for me. Haven't seen that magazine, but with some of my favorites gone, I will have to look for that one.
Hope you have a great week.

  7. Some days are just like that! I usually try to do something that makes me happy when I wake up like that, like taking a walk throught the garden.

Your quilt is so pretty! I've been wanting to try quilting for a few years now!

A new magazine is always a good way to unwind!
